Three ways to log, one honest number for today, and the tools around it: budgets, bills, splits, goals and insights that use your own history.
Get it onGoogle PlayControlExpense reads the transaction SMS from your bank, card, UPI app and wallet, and records the amount, the account and how you paid. The message text stays on your phone.
The log bar above the tabs reads short notes in English, Hindi and Hinglish: amount, category, date, account and payment method. You see what it understood as chips, and nothing saves until you tap.
Tap the mic, say what you spent, and ControlExpense reads back what it understood before you save. The optional offline model (57 MB) understands 99 languages with no internet and no uploads.
Safe to spend is the smaller of two allowances: what your monthly plan allows, and what your balances allow after bills due before payday and money set aside for goals. If bills outrun your money, ControlExpense says so plainly instead of showing a negative number.
Overall and category budgets with rollover, savings goals, recurring bills with reminders, lent and borrowed, and bill splitting that suggests a one-tap settle when your friend pays you back.
No generic tips. ControlExpense looks at what you actually did.
